Butterflies are fluttering.

And bees are buzzing.

I make sure to soak it all in while it lasts. Because it doesn’t last long.

Big brother brought hubby to school today for a special VIP day. Baby girl was spending the afternoon with my mom. It was just the three of us. All day long.

I wanted to make our time extra special. It was their request to go to the book store (Barnes and Noble) to look at the books and play at the train table and to go to the restaurant with the red sign (Chili’s).

And that’s just what we did.

I love these extra special days.

I couldn’t wait till the first official day of spring to put this up above our front window. I have spring fever BAD. And I want everyone to know it.

At 4:45 this morning I put these on. By 5:15, I was spinning and sweating in them. And at 6:15 they were lying on the floor as I stood in a hot steamy shower.

No wonder they call it active wear.

I’m a big fan of 5 PM. Dinner is usually in the works. Hubby is coming home. Bedtime is not too far off. Peace and quiet.

But today I was a big fan of 11 AM. A lunch date with my sweet boy at school. Just him and I. And a cafeteria filled with students and each of their special lunch buddies.

And he chose me to be his lunch buddy.

At 11 AM there was nowhere else I would have rather been.

5 PM joy.

My little snuggle bug. Always want to touch. Always wanting to show her love. Always the little peace maker.

Always puts a smile on my face.

On my bedside table are lots of books. Books that I am inspired to read. Books that I can’t keep my eyelids open long enough to read just one chapter.

I feel the need to read.

The kids, my mom, and I left my neighborhood today to go see the Lorax. It was such an adorable movie! One that I will add to our home library for sure.

How I am enjoying the ages that my kids are now. Less crying. More enjoying. Thank you, Lord!

The book fair is going on at his school. I let him choose a book he wanted and gave him the money he needed to buy it. It was a proud moment for him to make that transaction all on his own.

He had a little money left over from buying a book at the book fair so he took it upon himself to buy a drink from the school vending machine.

When he got off the bus, he was grinning ear to ear. New book in his backpack. That he purchased all by himself. Can of fruit juice in his hand. That he purchased all by himself.

I apparently am wearing off on him because he has been reading the labels on food items. After reading the label on the back of his juice can, he said, “Mom, I picked that juice because it said 100% fruit juice. I thought that would make you happy. But I see that it has a lot of sugar in it. I think I’ll buy water next time.”

They soak it all in, don’t they?

It’s always a guessing game in which of my babies are going to wake up first.  I usually guess correctly.  This morning I was wrong.  And I’m glad.  Because it gave us some one-on-one time.

And our conversation went something like this:

Me:  Good morning, buddy!  You are the first one up.
Him:  Yes, me are.  Grant seeping still.
Me:  I like spending time with just you, Jack-man.
Him:  I love you, mom.
Me:  I love you, my sweet boy.
Him:  Mommy?
Me:  Yes, kiddo?
Him:  Me want breakfast now.
